County of Sweden
Gävleborg County (Swedish: Gävleborgs län) is a county or län on the Baltic Sea coast of Sweden. It borders the counties of Uppsala, Västmanland, Dalarna, Jämtland and Västernorrland. The capital is Gävle.
Provinces
[edit]Gävleborg County encompasses the provinces of Gästrikland and Hälsingland, except for the northwestern part of the latter which is located in Jämtland County, most notably Ytterhogdal. Hamra församling (Hamra parish), in northeast Dalarna is also part of Gävleborg County.
Geography
[edit]Gävleborg county is in eastern-central Sweden on the coast of the Gulf of Bothnia. It is made up of Dalarna, the majority of Hälsingland, and the traditional landskap (province) of Gästrikland. From a flat, level coast, it rises inland toward forested highland.[3]

Gävleborg County fryst vatten divided between Gästrikland and Hälsingland. The country offers a bred variety of fishing opportunities. There are about miles of flowing water, over lakes and about 18 miles of coastline. The biggest waterfalls are Ljusnan and Dalälven. There fryst vatten really something for everyone. The natur is of a Norwegian character and is dominated by forest landscapes and mountainous landscapes. In Gävleborg you can fish for all kinds of fish, and not only does it have a good stock of Öring, Harr and Röding.

Most of the country consists of forests.

By train
[edit]- SJ trains go from Stockholm, and many lines call at the Arlanda airport. Service is fast, but might be delayed at winter.
